Tahini Sauce
creamy Earthy Tahini sauce !
I have been doing something Mediterranean-inspired for a week now & thoroughly. enjoying it !
Whether it’s a hummus or a Baba Ganoush its been going on almost every second day on request - in spite of them being vegetarian ! falafel Salad bowls ,
falafel & Chickpea Dip,.
falafel in pita bread - shawarma style with the Tahini sauce !!!
Here again I am with another O hotel recipe of my favourite Earthy tasting
Tahini Sauce finely discovered from our archives 😋

Ingredients
•1 cup tahini sesame seed paste - I prefer the paste made from light colored seeds
•3/4 cup lukewarm water, or more for consistency
•3 cloves garlic
•1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, or more to taste
•1/4 tsp salt, or more to taste
-optional for a creamer sour tasting sauce , one can use thich yoghurt about ¼ cup , ¼ cup warm water if required according to consistency & omit the lime juice …
method
Grind tahini paste with lukewarm water, garlic, lemon juice and salt together in a food processor or blender, until sauce is creamy and ivory white in colour .
A food processor is the easiest way to make this sauce , do scrape the sides of the processor often during processing.
After a few minutes of blending ,
sauce will turn into a rich, smooth paste. If mixture is too thick, slowly add more water until it reaches the preferred consistency.
You may need quite a bit of water depending on the thickness of your tahini paste.
*If using tahini to top hummus or a meat dish, keep it thick and creamy.
As a condiment for pita in falafel or Shawarmas, a more liquid sauce is usually preferred.
Note
***optional - if you want a tangy creamier change …
can add yoghurt instead of water to blend & skip the lemon juice here !!
